The past couple of months at Upper Mead Care Home have been full of joy, movement and celebration as we made the most of the summer sunshine and some truly uplifting activities.
June began with a cheerful Friday morning of floor games, followed by a jolly singalong and some dancing that had both residents and staff joining in the fun. It was the perfect way to lift spirits and end the week with laughter.
As part of Careers Week (9th–15th June), we took the time to show our heartfelt appreciation for our incredible team. With tasty treats and refreshing drinks, we said a big thank you for the dedication, warmth and care our staff show every single day. We’re so proud of everything they do.

Later in the month, residents enjoyed a much-anticipated seaside trip to Brighton. The weather couldn’t have been better, and everyone soaked up the sunshine with smiles all round. It was a beautiful day out, full of fresh air, sea views and happy memories.
In July, we kept the energy high with a fun game of beach ball in the morning, great for encouraging movement, coordination and social connection. Then in the afternoon, we were treated to an energetic music and dance session with Angela from Kiddleydivey Brighton and Hove, bringing joy, rhythm and plenty of smiles to the home.

From sea breezes to singalongs, it’s been a summer to remember so far at Upper Mead, and we’re only just getting started.
