As the days grew warmer and the gardens began to bloom, Upper Mead came to life with colour, laughter and the spirit of Easter. This April brought more than just sunshine – it delivered smiles, special moments and a wonderful sense of togetherness. Residents, staff, friends and family came together to celebrate the season in true Upper Mead style.
Planting Memories in Bloom
With the arrival of spring, our residents spent time outdoors planting new flowers in our garden beds and courtyard pots. The activity was a perfect way to welcome the season and add even more beauty to the spaces we all enjoy. With gloves on and trowels in hand, there was plenty of happy chatter, shared memories, and a few gardening tips exchanged along the way.
Watching the blooms come to life over the following weeks has been a joyful reminder of what’s possible with a little sunshine and teamwork. Our garden is now filled with bursts of colour and fresh life – and it’s all thanks to the care and creativity of our residents.

A Special Delivery of Easter Eggs
One of the most heartwarming moments of the Easter weekend was the surprise delivery of Easter eggs from a group of local children. The children arrived with bright smiles and baskets of treats, each egg carefully handed out and received with gratitude and joy.
Their visit brought such warmth to the home, with residents beaming at the kind gesture and enjoying a lovely bit of intergenerational fun. The sweet exchange of stories and laughter made it clear that small acts of kindness have a big impact. We’re so thankful to the children (and their families) for thinking of us and sharing their Easter cheer.

Afternoon Tea in the Spring Sunshine
As the sun continued to shine, we took full advantage of the weather with a beautifully prepared afternoon tea served outdoors in our garden. Residents gathered under sun umbrellas and blossoming trees to enjoy tea, finger sandwiches, fresh scones and sweet cakes.
There was plenty of conversation, laughter and relaxed contentment as everyone soaked up the sunshine. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect – spring flowers blooming nearby, birdsong in the air, and that unmistakable feeling of peace that only comes with being surrounded by nature and good company.

Lunch Al Fresco and Family Time
We were also lucky enough to enjoy Easter lunch in the sunshine, with many residents joined by friends and family for a relaxed, joyful meal outdoors. The smell of roast lamb and seasonal vegetables wafted through the garden as plates were served and stories were shared.
The afternoon was filled with catching up, shared memories and quiet moments of connection that mean so much. It was a gentle, beautiful reminder of how important time with loved ones really is – and how meaningful it can be to simply sit, share a meal and enjoy the warmth of spring together.

A Celebration of Life, Colour and Connection
This Easter brought us everything we could have hoped for – beautiful weather, blooming gardens, thoughtful visitors, and moments that lifted the heart. From planting flowers to afternoon tea, from Easter eggs to family time, it was a season filled with light, warmth and community spirit.
We are so grateful to our staff, residents, families and local friends who helped make this Easter so special. With spring in full bloom, we look forward to many more sunny days, joyful activities and cherished memories at Upper Mead.
