As the sunshine made a welcome return, May was a month full of joy, music, and meaningful moments here at Upper Mead Care.
Hook a Duck Fun
We started the month with a playful morning of Hook a Duck, bringing back memories of childhood fairs and simple games that never lose their charm. Residents enjoyed laughing and chatting while also reminiscing over their favourite music from throughout the years.
With the bank holiday sunshine shining through, it was the perfect way to welcome May.

VE Day – 80th Anniversary
In the second week of May, we honoured a momentous occasion – the 80th anniversary of VE Day. It was a heartfelt afternoon of remembrance and celebration. Our lounge was filled with music from the incredible Stephen Leppard, whose performance of 50s and 60s classics had everyone clapping and singing along.
The event was followed by a lovely afternoon tea and a raffle. It was a meaningful day where we remembered the courage and sacrifice of those who served.

Movement to Music with Sasha
To round off the month, we kept spirits high and bodies moving with an energetic Movement to Music session led by Sasha. With lively rhythms and plenty of smiles, it was a fun and engaging way to get active and enjoy music together.

As always, we’re so proud of the wonderful energy and warmth our residents bring to every activity. Thank you to all staff, entertainers, and loved ones who help make these moments so special.
