Things got a little spooky at Upper Mead this October as our residents, staff and visitors embraced the spirit of Halloween in true ghoulish style. From ghostly games to frightfully fun costumes, the home was alive with laughter, creativity and a few harmless scares along the way.
It was a Halloween to remember, filled with tricks, treats and togetherness.
Fang-tastic Costumes and Wicked Fun
Our amazing staff pulled out all the stops, arriving in full costume and showing off their spooky side. From classic witches and black cats to skeletons, pumpkins and the odd creepy clown, there was no shortage of imagination. The effort and enthusiasm from the team helped set the tone for the day, and residents absolutely loved seeing the colourful parade of Halloween outfits.
Not to be outdone, many of our residents also got involved, donning hats, face paint and spooky accessories to join the fun. The atmosphere was full of smiles, giggles and a playful sense of mischief. It was frightfully fantastic to see everyone getting into the spirit.
Ghostly Games and Gourd-geous Creations
Halloween at Upper Mead brought out everyone’s playful side, with a full day of festive games and activities that had the whole home buzzing. Residents and staff alike got involved, sharing plenty of laughs and a few spooky surprises along the way. The energy was high, the smiles were wide, and the spirit of fun was truly infectious.
One of the highlights of the day was the pumpkin carving session. Tables were set up with bright orange pumpkins ready to be transformed, and our residents rose to the challenge with enthusiasm and creativity. From cheerful designs to eerie expressions, each pumpkin became a unique work of art. The home looked wonderfully seasonal once they were displayed throughout, adding an extra splash of autumn colour and charm.
Treats So Good, They Were Scare-licious
Of course, no Halloween celebration would be complete without some devilishly good treats. Our talented kitchen team prepared a delightful spread of homemade Halloween goodies. There were ghost-shaped biscuits, spooky cupcakes with icing spiders, and even a pumpkin spice cake that disappeared faster than you can say “trick or treat!”
Everything was made with care and creativity, and the themed presentation brought smiles to everyone’s faces. It was a real treat in every sense of the word.
