Christmas at Upper Mead Care Home in West Sussex was filled with joy, laughter and a wonderful sense of togetherness. From the moment the first fairy lights were switched on to the final carol of the season, the home was alive with festive cheer.
The halls were beautifully decorated, trees sparkled in every lounge, and the sound of Christmas music brought smiles to residents and visitors alike. Every day felt special, thanks to the warmth and dedication of our incredible team who worked tirelessly to create a magical experience for everyone.
A Feast to Remember
Our kitchen team truly outdid themselves, preparing a mouthwatering Christmas lunch that delighted every table. Residents enjoyed perfectly roasted turkey, crispy golden potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and all the classic festive trimmings. Dessert was equally indulgent, with Christmas pudding, sherry trifle, and warm mince pies served with a generous helping of custard or cream. Every meal was made with care, and the dining rooms were full of happy conversation and festive spirit.
Throughout the week, there were plenty of comforting treats and beautifully presented snacks to enjoy. From the smallest details to the biggest moments, the food brought a sense of celebration and joy to every day.
Elves on the Loose
A favourite part of this year’s celebrations was the daily visit from our mischievous Elves on the Shelf. Each morning brought a new surprise as residents discovered what cheeky antics the elves had been up to overnight. Sometimes they were caught hiding in the teacups, other times trying to wrap up the television remote or climbing the Christmas tree.
Their playful presence created plenty of laughter and became a fun daily tradition, keeping everyone curious and excited for what the next day would bring. The elves truly brought a touch of wonder to the season and reminded us all of the magic of Christmas.
Festive Fun and Togetherness
Games, quizzes, and Christmas crafts kept spirits high throughout December. Our residents enjoyed bingo, trivia, sing-alongs and storytelling sessions, all designed to bring people together and celebrate the joy of the season. There were plenty of prizes, laughter and moments of pure happiness as we made memories that will be treasured well into the new year.
Live music performances added to the atmosphere, with festive favourites filling the lounges and inspiring a few happy tears and heartfelt singalongs.

Your dedication brought warmth to every room, created moments of magic and ensured that every resident felt loved, included and uplifted during this special time of year.
