It’s the most magical time of the year, and at Upper Mead Care Home, our residents, staff, and even a few mischievous visitors have been celebrating in true festive style!
The Elf on the Shelf has returned, and they’ve been up to all kinds of cheeky antics! From unexpected appearances to forming their own elf band, sprinkling glitter around the home and taking over the Nursing Station these festive troublemakers have kept everyone smiling and wondering what they’ll get up to next.

The elves weren’t the only ones spreading Christmas joy this year. We were delighted to welcome the wonderful children from St Peter’s School in Henfield, who visited to sing a beautiful selection of Christmas songs. Their sweet voices filled the home with warmth and joy, thank you to the students and teachers who made the afternoon so special – it really brought the spirit of the season alive.

Our annual Christmas Party was another highlight, where residents danced and sang along to party classics performed by the brilliant Keith Hayman. It was an afternoon full of music, laughter, and festive treats – the perfect way to celebrate with friends and loved ones.
And of course, Christmas Day itself was nothing short of magical. Our residents enjoyed a fun-filled morning complete with a very special visit from Santa Claus himself! There were smiles all around as presents were exchanged, festive food was shared, and memories were made.

We want to take a moment to thank our incredible team here at Upper Mead. As always, they’ve gone above and beyond to ensure our residents have a joyful, comforting and love-filled festive season. Their dedication and warmth never go unnoticed.
From all of us at Upper Mead – staff, residents, and even the elves – we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
